Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo is the latest NBA player to commit to the United States Olympic basketball team.
He will be part of a 12-man roster that so far reportedly is made up of Bradley Beal, Jayson Tatum, Damian Lillard, Devin Booker and Draymond Green.
Adebayo's agent, Alex Saratsis, confirmed the player's commitment, ESPN reported.
Adebayo, who turns 24 next month, was the No. 14 overall pick of the Miami Heat in the 2017 NBA Draft.
In the 2020-21 season, he set career highs for points (18.7 per game) and assists (5.4) while averaging 9.0 rebounds.
An All-Star in 2019-20, Adebayo made the NBA All-Defensive Second Team for the second straight season in 2020-21.
Team USA will begin training camp in Las Vegas on July 6. The United States, winners of three straight gold medals, open play in the Tokyo Olympics on July 25 against France.
