China urges Japan to stop challenging int'l bottom line with its nuclear ambitions

BEIJING, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- China urges Japan to stop testing the bottom line of international justice with its nuclear ambitions, said a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson on Friday.

Spokesperson Guo Jiakun's remarks came after a senior Japanese official said that Japan should have nuclear weapons.

The recent noises from the Japanese side about nuclear weapons reflect the growing ambition of right-wing conservative forces in Japan to revive militarism, break free from the international order, and accelerate the country's "remilitarization," Guo told a regular press briefing.
