Urgent: 6.2-magnitude earthquake rocks Shimane Prefecture in western Japan: JMA

TOKYO, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 struck Japan's Shimane Prefecture on Tuesday, the country's weather agency said.

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) issued an earthquake early warning. No tsunami advisory was issued.
