Urgent: TEPCO restarts Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear plant despite local opposition

TOKYO, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Japan's Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) on Wednesday restarted the No. 6 reactor at its Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear plant in Niigata Prefecture despite local opposition, marking the first operated by TEPCO to go back online since the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster.
