5.4-magnitude quake hits off east coast of Honshu, Japan -- GFZ

BEIJING, April 22 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan, at 1844 GMT on Tuesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 40.7 km, was initially determined to be at 40.21 degrees north latitude and 143.02 degrees east longitude.
